My Grandson has taken his certificate for operating a motorized scooter Friday June 11, 2004 – According to State Law these have to have liability insurance. I have my insurance with Shelter Insurance on everything I have – vehicles, houses etc. I contacted him and he says there is no insurance available for these scooters. He suggested to call these high risk insurance co. I did Campbell Co – Camden, AR – they say you have to have a vin# ser# and other things like a car – I called the dealer we bought this from – no such thing, these do not have this kind of information – so dead end there – Can I please have some help on this – where is a place you can get insurance – every agent I have called says no – please help Monday if at all possible Thanks Alma Strickland I am at witts end.

As an addition to the other information you provided you need to add that under the Arkansas motor vehicle code any motorized vehical regardless of size must have Liability insurance to be operated legally on Arkansas roads. This also includes logging and farm vehicles. If an accident were to occure the operator would be liable for any damages or injuries. If they were driving an unaproved vehicle they would also be automatically at fault even if they did not cause the accident.

The scooters have to be insured as a motorcycle. I use gieco you may want to try them you can buy your insurance on line and pay auto every month. you will still need a vin number for the vehicle.
