Snapsheet Promotes Cohen to President

Snapsheet, a Chicago-based provider of claims management software, promoted Andy Cohen to president.

Cohen will remain chief operating officer at Snapsheet. In his expanded role as president/COO, he will lead “go-to-market activities” across the suite of Snapsheet cloud products that support claims, payments and appraisals, the company said in a press release. Cohen will continue managing the execution of Snapsheet’s end-to-end customer outcomes, service and experience.

Prior to joining Snapsheet in 2017, Cohen served in strategic and operational leadership roles as vice president of worldwide field operations at CNA Insurance and as vice president of strategic initiatives at Travelers Insurance.

“Andy’s extensive industry background and demonstrated business acumen will strengthen Snapsheet’s business and expand our presence as we continue to invest in delivering game-changing claims management software and services,” stated Brad Weisberg, chief executive officer and founder of Snapsheet. “Over the past four years, Andy has been a true partner, visionary, and dynamic member of our exceptional management team.”

Snapsheet said it has experienced strong growth through its partnerships with more than 100 clients globally. The company hired 130 employees in the past three months.

Clara Analytics Appoints CEO

Clara Analytics, an artificial technology provider to the commercial insurance industry, has appointed Heather H. Wilson as chief executive officer.

Wilson currently sits on Equifax’s board of directors, serving on the Audit Committee and Technology Committee. She was previously chief data officer for American International Group, responsible for the firm’s enterprise data program and data infrastructure.

While at AIG, she was named the Insurance Woman of the Year by the Insurance Technology Association for her data innovation work, Clara said in a press release.She was also appointed to the U.S. Treasury Financial Research Advisory Committee in Washington, D.C., in 2015 for her data program experience.

In addition, Wilson was global head of Innovation and advanced technology at Kaiser Permanente, responsible for overseeing the strategies and implementation of analytical programs. Outside of the insurance space, Wilson served as chief data officer of Citigroup and global head of decision management, responsible for spearheading new analytical capabilities. As executive vice president and chief data scientist for L Brands, an American fashion retailer, Wilson led several data-oriented initiatives, Clara said.

The company, based in Santa Clara, California, provides a white of products that use image recognition, natural language process and other artificial intelligence techniques to gain insights from medical notes, bills and other documents surrounding a claim. The company was founded in 2016.

Renfroe Appoints CFO

E.A. Renfroe & Co., a national claims handling firm based in Birmingham, Alabama, has appointed Kasey Burleson as chief financial officer.

Burleson was previously CFO for McLeod Software, a software provider to the trucking industry. Prior to that, he was CFO for Zoës Kitchen, a restaurant chain that has grown to more than 250 locations nationwide, Renfroe said in a press release.

Renfroe said Burleson strives to integrate companies’ operational and financial functions “to achieve better experiences, automation and results.”

He is a certified public accountant and holds a master’s degree in professional accounting from the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business. In addition, Kasey is a graduate of the University of Alabama and served as an advisory board member of the University’s Culverhouse School of Accountancy.
