AS AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER FOR 30 YEARS, I SAW THE BILL THAT IS BEING DISCUSSED. I PERSONALLY WAS CHARGED 350.00 TO TOW MY PICKUP 1.3 MILES AND CHARGED 25.00 A DAY STORAGE. THE LAW ENFORCEMENT THAT HANDLED THE WRECK WHERE A YOUNG LADY PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME WOULD NOT LET ME MOVE MY TRUCK ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. SAID THAT IT WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC AND THE WRECKER WAS ALREADY ON THE WAY. I COMPLAINED TO THE MAYOR OF THE SMALL TOWN, TOLD ME THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY SET THE FEE. COMPLAINED TO THE POLICE CHIEF, ADVISED THEY COULD NOT TELL A COMPANY WHAT TO CHARGE. I HAD ALREADY CALLED THE BODY SHOP THAT DOES MY WORK PRIOR TO WRECKER CAMING TO THE SITE. ADVISED POLICEMAN OF THIS. HE STILL WOULD NOT LET ME MOVE MY TRUCK TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. HE ADVISED ME THIS WOULD BE THE WRECKER THAT PULLED MY TRUCK. MY BODY SHOP WAS THERE BEFORE THEY UNHOOKED MY TRUCK FROM THIER WRECKER AT THIER BUSINESS. I HOPE YOU PASS A BILL TO CURB THIS. I AM IN BUSINESS AND WRECKER COMPANIES ARE ENTITLED TO A PROFIT. NOT LIKE THEY CHARGE. CITY FIVE MILES FROM ME HAS A MAX FOR ALL WRECKERS ON THE CITIES ROTATION LIST OF 175.00. MY GRAND SON IS A POLICEMAN THERE, HE GAVE ME THIS INFORMATION.
