Crawford Appoints Loss Adjusting VP

Crawford & Co. announced that Robert Pageau is returning to the company with an appointment as vice president, managing director of loss adjusting for the New England region.

He reports to Larry Milburn, chief operating officer for U.S. Loss Adjusting.

Pageau has 30 years experience that includes inland marine claims, workers’ compensation and commercial general liability, the Atlanta-based claims administrator said in a press release. He began his career with Crawford in 1988 as a property and casualty claims adjuster and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the managing director of Crawford’s New England service center.

In 2015, he joined Dineley Claims Services as executive general adjuster, Crawford said. In 2019, Pageau became a director of operations for the northeastern region at McLarens, where he managed 40 adjusters.

Pageau, who is based in Massachusetts, is a licensed adjuster in 15 states, Crawford said. He holds an Associate in Claims designation and is part of the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter program. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in English/journalism from Keene State College in New Hampshire.

Conor Murray
Glatfelter Appoints Claims President

Glatfelter Insurance Group appointed Conor Murray as president of Glatfelter Claims Management effective Feb. 8. He will report to Chief Operating Officer James Patridge.

Murray most recently served as vice president, head of specialty claims of the Americas for Axa XL, where he led the North American Global Specialty Claims business.

Murray holds multiple designations from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. including an Associate in Claims, Associate in Risk Management and Associate in Marine Insurance Management, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.

Glatfelter Insurance Group, based in York, Pa., is a broker and program manager owned by American International Group.

Berkshire Hathaway Appoints Claims Leader

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance has appointed Andy Barberis as senior vice president for claims. He will be based in New York City.

BHSI said in a press release that Barberis has 35 years of commercial claims experience. For the last 23 years, he held the position of global claim officer for American International Group.

Barberis started his career as a manager for Aetna Property and Casualty in Garden City, N.Y. after graduating from the St. John’s University School of Law in New York City, according to his Linkedin page. He worked three years as an attorney for the Hayes & Ryan law firm in New York City before joining AIG as an executive vice president.

Plymouth Rock Hires New Claims Chief

Plymouth Rock Home Assurance Corp. has appointed Andrew Leeds as vice president of claims.

Leeds previously led the homeowner claims desk organization, special investigations unit, subrogation, quality assurance and vendor operations for Homesite Insurance, Boston-based Plymouth said in a press release. He also served as an assistant vice president for enterprise property claims consulting.

Prior to Homesite, Leeds served a variety of property underwriting and auto and property claim roles during a 15-year career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Plymouth said.
