This is a terrific article that insurers would do well to heade. Unfortunately, it’s riddled with typographical errors which I can’t tell is from the author, overlooked by the editor, or an error in uploading the article from the author to the ‘net.’ So, I’m concerned that it will be overlooked.
Regardless, I encourage Home Office, or whoever is in charge placing the claim department in the valley, to elevate the department. It is the promise keepers of the insurer. It’s where the rubber meets the road. Give the adjusters the tools to do their jobs– adjust claims– not do clerical work like fix checks in the wrong loss adjustment expense category or incorrect mailing addresses.
