Sedgwick Names Presidents for Casualty, Managed Care

Sedgwick has appointed John Stanzi as president of casualty operations for the Americas and Andrea Buhl as president of managed care operations.

The global claims administrator, based in Memphis, Tenn., said Stanzi will replace Jim Ryan, who was appointed as chief operating officer of the Americas.

Stanzi most recently held the role of managing director of casualty operations with Sedgwick, where he worked closely with Ryan and other leaders on strategic projects and growth initiatives across the company’s casualty lines of business.

Stanzi has more than 20 years of experience in operational, financial and corporate development roles, Sedgwick said. He holds an accounting degree from the University of Illinois and resides in Glenview, Ill.

Buhl was previously managing director of clinical programs. In her new role, she will continue to work with employers to develop workers’ care and cost-containment programs, Sedgwick said.

Buhl is board-certified nurse practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Utah and a Master of Science degree in nursing from Duke University.

Chubb Appoints Ex. VP for Overseas Claims

Chubb has appointed Nandini Mani as executive vice president of claims for Overseas General Insurance, the company’s international general insurance business in 51 countries and territories.

Mani was formerly Chubb’s deputy general counsel and head of global litigation. In her new role, she is responsible for all aspects of the company’s international claims organization, both retail and wholesale, that supports Chubb’s property and casualty, accident and health, and personal lines insurance businesses in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Far East, and Eurasia and Africa, the company said in a press release.

Mani will report to Juan Luis Ortega, executive vice president, Chubb Group and president of Overseas General Insurance, and Mike Smith, senior vice president, Chubb Group and global claims officer. The appointment is effective immediately.

Mani joined Chubb in 2015, leading all global investigations and litigation. Previously, she served as managing counsel at BNY Mellon. Before that, she was an attorney with Debevoise & Plimpton.

Nandini is licensed to practice law in New York State. She also is admitted to practice in the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the Northern District of Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Yale University

Crawford & Co.’s Rigby to Retire

Crawford & Co. announced that Global President Kieran Rigby has decided to retire, effective Dec. 31.

“Kieran has made an immense contribution to the success of Crawford worldwide,” stated Chief Executive Officer Rohit Verma.”He has ensured that our global service line, Crawford Claims Solutions, has successfully navigated the rapidly changing claims environment with the early adoption of many technology solutions including self-service applications, virtual adjusting and remote claims management that have delivered considerable benefit to our clients and their customers. I wish Kieran every success in his retirement.”

Crawford, an international claims administrator headquartered in Atlanta, said it is searching for a replacement, both internally and outside the company. Rigby will continue in his role until an appointment is made, the company said.

Rigby joined Crawford in 2014 when Crawford acquired GAB Robins UK, where he was CEO and shareholder. Since then, he has served as CEO of Crawford Europe and Latin America, and in 2017, he was promoted to international president, overseeing all operations outside the US. In 2018, when Crawford restructured under global service lines, Kieran was appointed global president of Crawford Claims Solutions. As the leader of CCS, he oversees field adjusting services including catastrophe, WeGoLook, and building and surveying consultancy services.

Lisenbey Appointed President of MedRisk

MedRisk, a national physical medicine provider for the workers’ compensation industry based in King of Prussia, Pa., has appointed Danielle Lisenbey as president, effective Nov. 2.

Lisenbey will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations and new business initiatives, serving under Chief Executive Officer Ken Martino and Executive Chairman Mike Ryan, MedRisk said in a press release.

Lisenbey has more than 27 years experience in workers’ compensation and disability with Crawford & Co. She was the first female member of Crawford’s global executive team, MedRisk said.

Lisenbey holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Technology from Western Illinois University. She serves on the executive board of the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation and is active in the National Association of Women’s Executives.

Ametros Appoints VP for Settlements

Ametros, a post-settlement medical administrator, has hired Nicole Chappelle as vice president of settlement solutions.

Amertos said Chappelle has 28 years of experience, most recently as a claims auditor for AmTrust Financial Services. She is a former assistant vice president for Gallagher Bassett and has served in litigation management, hearing representation, and claims supervision for several insurance companies. She started her career with Travelers Insurance.

Chappelle earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California in Santa Barbara.

Amextros, based in Wilmington, Mass., administers medical care provided through Medicare set-asides established by workers’ compensation and liability settlements.
