    An excellent example of good claim handling- shut down the underlying claim to cap the loss- and worry about coverage and re-imbursement later… it can be done with proper legal advice so as not to be deemed a “volunteer” …. this almost ALWAYS results in a lower Total Incurred. This was definitely the “right thing” to do- unfortunately, more & more, dong the right thing is falling by the wayside due to classic short sighted behavior.
