Pasich Law Firm Appoints Halprin as Partner

Pasich LLP, a New York law firm that specializes in insurance recovery and entertainment, announced that it has appointed attorney Peter A. Halprin as partner.

Before joining Pasich, Halprin was a shareholder in Anderson Kill P.C.’s New York office, where he focused on insurance recovery and served as deputy co-chair of the cyber insurance recovery practice.

Halprin represents commercial insureds in complex insurance coverage matters, with a particular focus on recovery strategies in relation to captive insurance, cyber crime, natural disasters, professional services, regulatory investigations, and technology disputes, the law firm said. “He has has arbitrated, litigated, and mediated claims involving a broad range of insurance policies and recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance proceeds for insureds,” the firm said.

He advises clients under an array of insurance forms and policies. Halprin also counsels U.S. and foreign companies in domestic and international arbitrations, including both ad hoc and institutional arbitration forums. He has served as a party-appointed arbitrator and as sole arbitrator. Halprin is a member of the AAA National Roster of Arbitrators.

“Pasich LLP has a substantial international insurance practice with specialties in property and business interruption as well as political risk insurance,” Halprin said in a statement. “The firm is frequently engaged in international arbitration and I am excited to continue building and growing the practice in New York and around the globe.”

Transcom Solutions Appoints President
Sara Aguilla

Transcom Solutions, a national transportation and translation company that serves the workers’ compensation industry, announced the promotion of Sara Aguila to president.

Aguila was previously the company’s vice president of business development. She now oversees operations and customer service as well as sales and marketing, the Tampa, Florida-based firm said in a press release.

Aguila has 17 years of sales and business development experience in the workers’ compensation and insurance industries, Transcom said. She previously worked for Complete Claims Services, CompEx, ZoneCare, Optimal Care, and Gould and Lamb.

“I believe this will truly be a unique role where service can exceed expectations,” Aguila said in a statement. “Because of our passion for people, accountability, transparency, integrity in operations, and professionalism, we will continue to maintain our boutique feel as the company grows.”

Aguila co-founded Transcom Solutions in 2009.

Orchid Medical Upgrades Network Software

Orchid Medical, which provides ancillary medical management services for workers’ compensation claims, has released a second generation of its proprietary network software.

The Orlando-based tech company said the update of its Orchid Medical Network Integration (OMNI) software features a client-facing portal incorporates claim processing, billing and reporting. It features a client-facing portal that can run customized reports and “Dashlets” that provide a systemic view of productivity, Orchid said in a press release.

Users are able to set their preferences for communication and manage alerts, including when and how an adjuster would like to be contacted, the company said. The online tools reduce “touch points” for adjusters and increase efficiency in managing multiple claims.

Omni said it is demonstrating the software at the Workers; Compensation Educational Conference at the Orlando World Center Marriott, now underway and concluding Wednesday.
