This country is increasing run on greed and unfortunately, it’s to the detriment of so many innocent people in their path. I wonder how many of the patients that received unnecessary opioid prescriptions are now addicted, or worse, became one of the statistics we see on the our nightly news channel each day? I’m glad these carriers are starting to pay attention and acting on it.

I do a bit of PI defense work and have done cases for both of these insurance companies. It took me only a few cases to figure out the recipe:

Send MVA “victim” to crooked chiropractor.
Chiro accomplishes very little so decides plaintiff needs MRI.
Plaintiff sent to crooked MRI facility.
Crooked radiologist over-reads films, eg, “1.5 mm disk herniation at L4/5”.
Plaintiff sent to crooked pain doctor who does unnecessary ESI.
Lots of unbundling for supplies, fluoro, etc.
Charges for all services and supplies are outrageously inflated. I recently saw a bill for $8,000 for a lumbar ESI.

I’ll bet if you follow the money you’ll find the PI lawyers are invested in the MRI facilities, ASC’s, etc.
