Bed bug detection methods are also improving, which may lead to an increased number of cases. Similar to arson dogs, there are dogs trained to “smell out” and find bed bugs, where they are well hidden or humans are unable to see them.

Bed bug claims are on the rise. Over the last 5 years my law firm, Whitney, LLP,
http://www.whitneyfirm.com, has recovered over $10 million for clients arising out of bed bug cases. The damages are paid for the bites, disfigured skin, emotional distress and property damage. One of the reason claims are increasing is because consumers are slowly becoming gaining awareness of their legal rights when it comes to bed bugs. I expect the trend to continue.
