    This is interesting research, but unfortunately completely impractical. Wind turbine blades cannot withstand hurricane force winds. Wind turbines typically shut down at around 50 mph to avoid destruction. Wind blades bend in high wind conditions. If bending is sufficient, the blades cut into the support towers, resulting in total loss.

    Got to be the stupidest story ever, Professor of Earth has never heard of the Laws of Thermodynamics and inquired as to the scale we are discussing.
