Tautology and the Art of Listening

    Until now, I only recalled Tautology from high school math. Little did I know, even after admittedly being a voracious reader, that the concept applies to language as well. I appreciate your points in this well-written article and hope to read more articles from you.

      I must concur. Undergraduate logic and philosophy underscored that tautology is a statement that is true by necessity or by virtue of its logical form. I ran across its secondary meaning while editor of law journal. I find it fascinating.
