My 8 year old daughter was hit by a foul ball in the face at a Nationals vs Mets game on 4/7/18. She bled for an hour and was taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital. She underwent surgery on 4/16/18 and they said she will have breathing problems until she’s an adult and until she can have more extensive nose surgery. The Nationals have denied all liability claims and frankly ignored our pleas. The Nationals EMT gave us the option to put her in an ambulance or an UBER! Seriously, she’s an 8 year old with a possible head injury and now have to pay out of pocket expenses for the ambulance and surgery. This is an 8 year old girl who cannot assume the liability of risk as an adult. I understand the risks at a baseball game but never expected a foul ball to strike my defenseless daughter in the face causing long term damage. The Nationals boast they support the military and they were honoring Veterans at the game while my daughter was in the ambulance. My husband served in the U.S Navy for 12 years and they are turning their backs on our military family. It’s very saddening to go through this experience.
