I can certainly vouch for Oklahoma that I know of one national insurance company applies a higher rate for home insurance in the OKC metro area compared to the Tulsa metro area due to claims frequency & severity. There are a couple of southern and southwestern OKC suburbs that have a significantly higher homeowners insurance rate than Oklahoma City proper which makes sense if you were to look at the past 10 years’ spring storms activity and you can see where the majority of home owners insurance claims came from. Meanwhile, the western and northwestern parts of the state tend to have the best rates since the history has been less volatile and is mostly rural and smaller cities.
