Esurance Lays Off 30 Workers in South Dakota

About 30 Esurance employees in Sioux Falls have lost their jobs as part of cuts within the insurance company.

The Argus Leader reports that Esurance cut 100 jobs Tuesday, mostly in Sioux Falls and in two California locations. The San Francisco-based company said the cuts will reduce its operating costs.

The cuts in Sioux Falls come just a week after the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society laid off more than 100 workers in the city.

CoreLogic Launches Aerial Roof Measurement App

Global property information and analytics provider CoreLogic announced the launch of its mobile application for SkyMeasure, a residential and commercial aerial roof measurement service.

The mobile app uses the same geocoding technology as the desktop version, while increasing access to ParcelPoint, the company’s proprietary parcel database. Reports can be generated in as little as three hours using the mobile app. The app also provides historical property measurement data.The app is free with in-app purchase options, and is available for both Apple and Android devices.

QBE Partners With High Point, Midwestern to Offer National Workers’ Comp to Transportation Market

QBE North America, an operating division of global insurer QBE Insurance Group Limited, recently announced a strategic program alliance with High Point Underwriters and Midwestern Insurance Alliance to deliver a national workers’ compensation and occupational accident insurance program for the transportation market.

The program provides the ability to include employee drivers on a workers compensation policy, and the owner-operators on an occupational accident and contingent liability policy with the same insurance company. This program will offer coverage nationally through QBE’s “A” rated insurance companies on an admitted and non-admitted basis.

Louisville, Kentucky-based Midwestern Insurance Alliance is a national workers’ compensation program administrator focused on the trucking market for over 30 years, while Morris Plains, New Jersey-based High Point Underwriters is a prominent occupational accident program administrator.

AIG Releases New Personal Lines Cyber Coverage Product for High Net Worth Clients

American International Group, Inc., announced that its Personal Insurance business is bringing the cyber protection and risk mitigation principles found in its CyberEdge Commercial Insurance to policyholders of AIG Private Client Group, which serves high net worth individuals and families.

Family CyberEdge provides coverage to customers who fall victim to threats including cyber extortion and cyberbullying. The insurance, subject to applicable terms and conditions, covers expenses related to data restoration and crisis and reputation management, among other solutions.

In addition, AIG is collaborating closely with the Private Client Services team of its strategic partner K2 Intelligence – an investigative, compliance and cyber defense services firm – to provide AIG Private Client Group policyholders with information that will enable them to manage their cyber risks more proactively.

Clients receive a wide range of supplemental risk mitigation services, including a holistic assessment of devices, home networks, wireless access points and secure online accounts; training services for family members; online monitoring that assesses and tracks the availability of personal information; and a set of cyber assistance tools and resources including assistance from experienced fraud experts, provided by the identity and data defense specialist, CyberScout.
