Another tip for PPE should be a hard hat. I found this out the hard way inspecting a flooded property once! Water damaged drywall on a ceiling can be a serious safety hazard! Also, I loved the almost always overlooked part about taking pictures of the rug to identify knot count, but I would suggest also trying (wet rugs are heavy) to get some good documentation about the backing of the rug. Delamination is much more likely to occur in a wet rug, so it’s a good idea to check for that.
