Your point about taking age into account is such a good idea. My roof is pretty beat up, and there are lots of shingles cracked. We have only lived in this house for a few years, so I’m not sure how old the roof is. I’ll do a little research, and if it’s old enough, I’ll have it replaced.

My wife and I are discussing getting our roof repaired after a bad storm we had a couple weeks ago. A lot of the shingles have come off and are exposing the roof. We haven’t gotten any leaks and our house isn’t close to twenty years old yet, so I think we will be on the right track with just getting the roof repaired. Thanks for the helpful info!

I really like your point about knowing the age of your roof, so you know if you should repair it, to just replace it all. The other day I noticed that my roof was very beat up. There were multiple spots with shingles missing, and many that are cracked or broken. It sounds like the best thing to do would be to talk to a professional, and see what route they suggest.

This was article is very helpful if you are trying to decide whether to repair or replace your roof. Is it normal to have to change your roof every 20 years? I’ve been living in my home for 25 years and my roof is starting to leak a little bit so I think it is time to get it replaced!

I just wanted to thank you for going over some situations you should repair or replace a roof. I didn’t know that some material can be more ideal to use in some climates, like how asphalt shingles are usually used in the Midwest. It definitely sounds like it’s important to know more about which materials would be ideal for you to use depending on your climate, especially to make sure that your roof can stay in good condition for a very long time.
