Crawford Names Spencer Vice President of Operational Compliance

Atlanta-based Crawford & Company named Judson Spencer vice president, operational compliance. Spencer assumes the responsibilities of Robert Stevens, who recently retired from Crawford after 24 years with the Company.

Spencer brings more than 10 years of claims operations management, organizational compliance and oversight experience to his position, and he reports to Robert Cormican, senior vice president, Compliance & Quality.

Spencer_JudsonIn his new role Spencer is responsible for the Operational Compliance group, which supports Crawford’s U.S. Property & Casualty—as well as the Company’s Broadspire unit—in meeting applicable regulatory requirements. He also manages the adjuster licensing function which supports Crawford’s other business units in insuring their adjusters are properly licensed. Broadspire is a third-party administrator of workers compensation claims, liability claims and medical management services.

Earlier this year Crawford established the Global Ethics and Compliance Office to be responsible for providing Crawford employees with the information, tools, guidance, training and support they need to comply with Crawford’s Code of Business and Ethics Conduct. The Operational Compliance group is a critical component of the Global Ethics and Compliance Office.

Prior to joining Crawford, Spencer served for seven years as process improvement manager/supervisor of staff for the Chesterfield Companies. Before that he held the position of self-funded claims and customer service manager for the Aultman Health Foundation.
