I remember when I worked at Allstate that part of our job requirement was that we refer 2 percent of our claims to the Fraud Department. Failure to do so had a direct impact on your job performance evaluation. We had one adjuster who routinely referred all Public Adjuster claims to fraud and receive kudos every month. I never understood how Allstate could ever defend a job-related suit with guidelines like that….and the PIP was even worse! …and then there was Sandy!!! Allstate took the art of the “low-ball” to territories one could never imagine!!! My file is about 3″ thick on that….but they just wear you down and to retain any semblance of sanity, you walk away because life is too short and they prey on that knowledge! Until there is a real “bad faith” statute here in New Jersey, they will proceed with business as usual…..try googling Allstate and Bad Faith and then tell me why it is a surprise policyholders retain attorneys!!!

The reported conclusions stated here are ludicrous. More PIP claimants hire lawyers because their claims are wrongly denied or limited.
I can’t wait to hear where your data comes from?
