This is a stupid knee jerk reaction. I suppose it was too much to ask for the NPS to make a little effort to try to allow them in out of the way places, or with a few common sense rules. If you want to provide a quiet peaceful environment for folks, I’d say banning Harley Davidsons or screaming kids would go a lot further. I have flown a drone for over a year now and have never had one person complain the it was distracting or unpleasant for them. As for the nesting birds, I would think that those cliff climbers would be doing a lot more disturbing of their habitat than an occasional drone.
