I wish I had read this before my latest printed barcode. Event planning requires many aspects to be running in sync to make the maximum impact. Unfortunately, the barcode for registration was not verified prior to printing and an inaccurate barcode went out on all the literature. Requiring a total reprint of materials, time spent on distribution is now doubled as poor material is retrieved and who know how many tried to use the bad code and are now lost. Costly costly costly

Great article – I hope that the verification of barcodes becomes a part of the printers processes even if the client has not asked for it. It is common knowledge that all product packaging for retail and healthcare as well as printed materials for major industrial segments are required to attain an ISO Grade of 1.5 or better. It is also important to note that claims can extend beyound the cost of replacement to liability for damages. Think about that if you are printing for the healtcare industry. Verification is not optional.
