Polonious Adds Industry Veteran to Insurance Team Leadership

July 15, 2013

Polonious Investigation Management Systems, special investigative unit (SIU) and investigation management systems provider, announced that claims veteran Gary LaFond joined the company as vice president of sales and marketing.

Polonious has a strong presence in the insurance industry and LaFond’s extensive experience in the areas of claims, fraud, workflow and process improvement will enhance the company’s existing relationships.

LaFond’s network of contacts and expertise, gained through leadership positions with Detica NetReveal (a division of BAE Systems), Adaptik, BlueWave Technology (recently acquired by Cover-All), Scene Genesis (acquired by Mitchell International), and ADP Claims Services Group (now AudaExplore), will help Polonious expand market presence and awareness of the company’s products and services throughout the industry.

“Gary has a strong knowledge of the pain points for property and casualty insurance companies around claims management, fraud and investigation management already,” said Rick Shepherd, president of Polonious. “His ability to hit the ground running in this position will bring a new depth to our existing client relationships and will reinforce for companies who are considering working with us that we are knowledgeable about their businesses and their needs for the future.”

In his new position, LaFond will be directly responsible for the sales and marketing efforts for Polonious, as well as for the positioning of the company as an industry leader in the areas of claims and case management, fraud identification and investigation management. He will manage and coordinate efforts to further solidify Polonious’ position as a premier provider of investigation management solutions for insurance organizations, special investigative units (SIUs), law enforcement and investigation entities.

Polonious’ services and solutions improve cycle times by identifying bottlenecks in the insurance claim cycle, while improving vendor management and positively impacting outcomes. Polonious uses its systems and industry expertise to help insurers, investigation firms and law enforcement operationalize fraud and criminal investigations.
