    Amazing it took years of management in the insurance industry to learn what every one else does after one year of kindergarten, just goes to show how inept the insurance industry is, now pay those claims

    Not so fast…..I use to hire attorneys into the claim job and after 2 yrs trial everyone one of them at 9 national insurers failed badly. None stayed with the job or in insurance Why? I over ruled those inept HR people who try to comprehend what it takes to be a claim adjuster 24/7 and hired body shop adjusters, contractors, and supply room clerks, they all spent the next 30 yrs in Claims and moved up the the executive level today looking for retirement. Why? Look beyond the text book for claims people.

    Fist they appreciated OPPORTUNITY and second they all had one quality you failed to understand that the most important trait over any grades, scholastic skills or so. They all had “PASSION” for the claims. Thats the key to find in an applicant bar none.Most dont have it and do a poor job at claims. EX, my son graduated 4.0 form Purdue and was hired by Liberty Mutual and was so ill trained and orientation was a joke, he lasted 4 weeks and walked out. He is now a trauma surgeon assist and will complete 4 more years in college while internship at a major hospital before becoming a full surgeon. This is after 9 yrs in college already with a BS, and MBA. He had no PASSION for insurance after growing up in the claims business for his entire life and working claims in the summer for us.
    Yes he has PASSION for surgery ..Find the Passion in your job and its there for life.If not, quit and look for something that turns you on. Claims is for the few and not everyone.

    Quit discriminating against those who have no college degree. There are plenty of folks out there with a Masters and/or PhD who are totally inept. Stinchcomb is right about looking beyond the text book.;
