GEICO Names Seth Ingall Senior Vice President

March 11, 2013

GEICO named Seth Ingall senior vice president, with responsibility for claims home office, staff counsel, communications and the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation. He will also continue to serve on the board of directors of GEICO’s insurance companies.

Ingall succeeds Don Lyons, who retired from the company after 44 years of dedicated service.

“I’m very excited about this opportunity and am looking forward to the challenge of continuing the tremendous contributions Don Lyons added to GEICO’s success,” Ingall said.

“We’re thrilled to have a skilled and experienced officer like Seth Ingall ready to step into the position,” said Tony Nicely, GEICO’s chairman and chief executive officer. “I am confident that we won’t miss a beat during this transition, and I know that Seth will continue to lead GEICO to greater heights moving forward.”

Ingall most recently served as regional vice president since 2007, first leading GEICO’s regional office in Woodbury, N.Y. and helping the company remain the leading insurer in the state, before moving to the GEICO’s regional office in Buffalo in 2012.

Ingall originally joined GEICO as a Certified Insurance Counselor interviewer in 1986, and took on assignments of increasing responsibility before earning his law degree and joining the office of staff counsel. He went on to become managing attorney in the Silver Spring, Md., staff counsel office, then administrative senior claims attorney in claims home office, and subsequently served as assistant vice president for claims in GEICO’s Fredericksburg, Va., office. He was named vice president of GEICO claims operations in 2005.

Ingall holds a bachelor’s degree in communications, legal institutions, economics and government from American University and a law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law.
