The ability to communicate effectively by reading, writing, and speaking American/English should be a requirement of citizenship. Anyone coming to America should be expected to have those communication skills. Americans shouldn’t be expected to learn their languages. Help desks are notorious for being staffed with people you can’t understand. My son is a doctor. When a non-English speaking patient arrives in the ER and can’t communicate, why should he have to be concerned over a lawsuit if he does makes a decision without the necessary facts? I’ll never have sympathy for people who can’t speak our native tongue. All children should be required to pass an English proficiency test. American children don’t need to be proficient in a foreign language. Now the ingrates are suing because we don’t understand them and our legal system is giving them huge awards? What’s wrong with this country. The original plan was to “assimilate, speak our language, embrace our customs”. To hell with these people. Learn to speak the language of the land. Otherwise, stay in your hellhole native countries where you can be understood.

I have to agree with Jester. If you live in America you need to speak english. My daughter is having a hard time finding a job because she is not bi-lingual. Wouldn’t you hate to know how much of your hard earned tax dollars are spent printing documents that school send out in 5 different languages? It is crazy. If you don’t speak english, DON’T COME TO AMERICA!!!!!
