Turner doesn’t get it either. For openers, certain breeds are more likely to attack, maul, and kill, not just snap or bite. We’re talking primarily about Pit Bulls and Rotweillers although there are others. These breeds have no place in close-quarter urban residential areas. If people must have them, they should be required to carry a $1M dogbite liability policy. Just compare the claim severity for the attacks of these beasts against your run of the mill dogbit.

As for most other breeds, a $100K limit might due as they snap and bite but don’t normally cause much damamge. Let those with the dogs pay the freight for their animal liability coverage costs.

Jester says: comment! Unfortunately, uneducated, breed specific, dog discriminators usually make comments like these. I don’t want to pay for an idiot down the street whom owns a high risk breed, and doesn’t address behavior problems, do vet checks, and so on. I am an owner of 4 as they say “high risk breeds” staffordshire’s, pits and aussie/german sheppard. In the 17 years I have raised these breeds I have never had a case of attack on myself, family or stranger. But then again I am what is deamed a “RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNER”. Sounds like the commenter needs to get an education: try Ceasar Millan maybe reading a book might help. Turner you are amazing work hard we need it here in the west.
