Rimkus Analytics Adds New Services to Digital Forensics Division

Houston-based Rimkus Analytics, LLC, a specialist in electronic discovery and digital forensic consulting, announces the addition of social media discovery and electronic document processing to its list of forensic consulting services.

Social Media Discovery

Social media discovery has become a valuable forensic tool for special investigations tailored to meet the client’s strategic needs, according to David Sandlin, Digital Forensic Division Manager for Rimkus Analytics, LLC. Detailed analysis of the online activities of an individual or organization can reveal a wealth of information regarding interests, activities and behaviors.

The company utilizes industry recognized forensic tools and collective knowledge to discern an individual or entity’s identity, actions and photos online. These services include, but are not limited to, the research of publicly available social media websites and platforms, as well as other research found in digital form. Information can be mined from social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter; bookmarks found in bookmarking sites such as StumbleUpon, Diig, Delicious and Plurk; video sharing sites such as YouTube and Vimeo; and photo sharing sites such as Flickr, Photobucket and Picasa.

Electronic Document Processing

Utilizing proprietary processing software, Rimkus can cost effectively convert massive amounts of electronic documents, often received in discovery, to a more useable form.

Documents can be produced in native format or converted to PDF or TIFF files with a load file, depending on client preference. The company’s processing technology supports standard image load file types including IPRO (LFP), Summation (DII) and Opticon (LOG, OPT).
