The RX350 comes with strong metal “clips” that are permanently fastened to the floor carpeting. The floor mats have a permanently secured metal “ring” that is placed over the “clips” to keep them from moving. Unless someone is stupid enough not to re-secure the mats after cleaning, there’s no way they’re going to interfere with the accelerator. Another expensive recall to idiot-proof something that doesn’t need it. As for the idiots who set off the alleged “acceleration problem”, all they had to do was turn the engine off or take the vehicle out of gear. (if it in fact accelerated on its own.)
