BRILLIANT!!!!! We’ve taken “idiot proofing” vehicles to a new level. Now morons can leave the driving to artificial intelligence while they play with electronic toys behind the wheel.

I personally think this can be a very big help, especially to very new drivers, who don’t always know to be extra alert at a stop light, that some other driver could be running a red light and they might get creamed..
I also can see that this could free up the already inattentive drivers, so they can do even more texting and playing games, reading books and eating instead of actually paying attention..

I think this technology has a long way to go to be practical but, it does have the potential to make our roadways much safer. Planes have been using similar technology to avoid collisions for years (albeit with much less traffic and a lot more space in play). Thanks for the information.
