Women are successful in Claims because they are better at multi-tasking then men.

Dear Ms. Johnson–How very rosy! I would like to know what insurance companies’ records are for HIRING women, Lesbians (and gays) and Transwomen as well as all of these folks–including straight women–who are over 55. I would also like to know the written policies in these respects for Chubb and MetLife, the two exemplars in your article.

I cannot believe these records could be touted like the results you do for straight women, most of whom were hired, I wager, at quite young ages (at least compared to an age of 55).

I am, for instance, one of the most qualified maritime attorneys in this country with degrees in both naval architecture and marine engineering and law. I have never received a response to my several applications to Chubb during the last four or five years.

    A Transwoman,

Good advice in general, but the realities I’m doubting.

Really? I doubt these percentages. Also highly doubt equal pay is going on. The insurance industry is like all other industries if you are a woman over 45 good luck finding a job. I am 57. I have a college degree, insurance designations and multi-state licenses. My last job, my boss, a young 39 year old took to hiring college interns to do my job. Oh and they got the better offices. So much for experience!

I have also worked for women and they are the most sexist!
