There are certainly physicians out there performing illegal activities just like there is for all occupations but I certainly don’t think it is more than any other occupation and is actually probably less. There is so much regulation in health care. Medical malpractice insurance certainly won’t cover fraud or illegal activities. Most policies do provide defense coverage for medical board related claims.

I agree with the comment above that there may actually be fewer physicians acting illegally or fraudulently than in other occupations. But the problem is that, while the vast majority of malpractice insurance policies do not cover criminal or fraudulent acts, the insurance company often becomes involved in the claim process or even litigation, as the facts, and consequently whether the alleged malpractice act is within the scope of the policy, are not known until the discovery process. Thus, malpractice insurance rates are affected.

The rate of medical malpractice increased a lot in these days. The state and ethical law is there to protect the one who is affected. A good medical malpractice lawyer have a god role in this. Thanks for sharing these information to the readers.
