Utica National Responds to Businesses’ Needs with Cybersurance

October 27, 2011

Between 2005 and 2010, more than 350 million personal records were exposed in reported data breaches alone. Those numbers include data, privacy and security breaches by cyber-criminals accessing sensitive company and customer information, as well as exposure from lost or stolen laptops, thumb-drives, or other mobile data storage devices.

In response, Utica National Insurance Group is offering coverage to help protect small businesses in the event of a data, privacy or security breach. Utica has introduced its new Cybersurance™ endorsement, affording protection to businesses with 25 employees or fewer, on Commercial Package policies (CPP) and Business Owners policies (BOP).

The endorsement is also available for independent insurance agents themselves through Utica’s Agents’ Errors & Omissions insurance program.

Utica National has partnered with Identity Theft 911, to provide businesses with data breach services which includes services before, during and after a breach. Services include incident response planning, breach severity assessment, assistance with notifications and meeting federal and state regulatory requirements, protecting affected customers and employees, and more.
