They are usually the first on the scene on behalf of the carrier and are correctly focused on the forensic aspects of the investigation. The author stressed teamwork. In a suspicious fire time is of the essence. The team should include an experienced SIU focused investigator who can timely pin down information including statements from insureds, witnesses, and fire personnel (in coordination with the C&O invstigator).
