A “Toy Story 3” bowling game made in China is being recalled because red paint on the pins contains lead.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday that the recall affects about 600 copies of the toy set, which was imported by G.A. Gertmenian and Sons LLC of Los Angeles.
The toys were sold last September at Walmart stores for about $18.
Gertmenian said it had received no reports of injuries, but the safety agency said it was still interested in getting injury reports.
The recalled “Toy Story 3” Bowling Game includes six white plastic bowling pins with two red stripes painted on the necks, a black plastic ball and a 68-inch by 26-inch nylon game rug with Buzz Lightyear’s image on the front.
The batch marking of “JA 148” appears on the bottom front of the package just above the bar code.
The red paint on the pins was measured to have more than the allowed 90 parts per million of lead, the federal agency said.
The agency said consumers should stop using the bowling pins immediately and contact the manufacturer for a free replacement set.
