The Insurance Companies and self insured are becoming displacement about their claims handling procedures. Some of the major companies are creating a buffer between themselves and the people they collect their premiums from by using a claims broker in one area who handles all areas of the country for a cut of the action both from the people they hire to do the actual work and the insurance companies. There was a broker who required on every loss regardless of the claim that they climb up on all roofs and examine them. In the northeast the roofs are far beyond climbing, so they will pay for a lift $150.00 to saddle up to the roof. That means claims people now will have to carry around 20 foot ladders and tote along a rented lift. Get real…. The Insurance Commissioners in all the states can draw the line on this type of claims handling.

Larry – Are you sure you didn’t mean “complacent” instead of “displacement?”

Deny , Delay and Defend, all brought on by Big Corporate Insurance Companies that make Wall Steet happy. Main Street America, wait till you see how your claim will be processed. The catastrophe adjusters that make their living doing this work are being abused, under paid and put through hoops of paperwork to those they have to report to. I would rather stay home and lose money, instead of being in the mix of all of this destruction. Insurance Companies care about their bottom line, Wall Street and Bonuses for those in the Ivory Tower. Let me know in 45 days how your claim is going. Do not do business as a homeowner with any vendor unless you verify them, try the BBB. Buyer Beware, do your homework. Make sure your adjuster is also lisensed in the State he is working. Do not be a victum over and over again.
