It’s not that human beings are better drivers, it because of better safety technology in vehicles and highway design. All that’s being done is to prevent or mitigate injury/damages by increasing the cost of vehicles and taxes. _ssholes will always be a problem behind the wheel.

Ok, Debbie Downer, but evening keeping that in mind, wouldn’t you rather the number of highway deaths continue to decline, rather than increase?

Let’s admit it, Donovan has a valid point. We all know our pathetically flawed legal system isn’t taking loose cannons off the road. As usual, we’ve found another “workaround” to help even the galactically careless driver survive their own disasters. Great strategy! Let’ just keep idiot-proofing everything so the 99% can protect themselves from the 1%.

front wheel-drive, anti-lock brakes, better highways, air bags, and the fuel prices may statistically, have something to do with it. not seatbelts like the profiting law makers and insurance companys would like you to beleive.
