So BP now have to take the blame for a faulty safety feature (BOP) which was the responsibility of Transocean.. It seems to me that Transocean should be paying all the clean-up and compensation costs.. Give BP back its money!

Nah, Rush said Obama caused the spill. He also said Obama caused the housing collapse, the start of the recession, war in the middle east, Somali Pirates, smog and Tiger Woods divorce.

Damn, who the hell did we elect?

Ralph, I have no problem blaming Cheney for fostering an atmosphere of carelessness, unethical behavior and a profit-over-anything attitude in this company he ran for many years. I know you’re trying to be funny as if everything were blamed on Bush, but this is definitely a situation where the attitude that companies do everything right and should be left alone is proven dead wrong…about 11 times if my math is right.

Wow, even though Cheney retired from Halliburton in 2000? Wasn’t it the Obama administration that gave this oil rig a safety award?

Yeah and I know plenty of small businesses that have A+ ratings with the BBB that are far from ethical. They’re just real good at B.S.ing their clients. I know, I used to work for one of them and the owner is as crooked as they come.

it takes years for companies to make turns and abandon horrible business tactics. Just look at the US auto industry and the oil producers who still put little into alternative energy sources. As far as the safety award goes, who knows how far in advance they were notified of the inspection, and who knows what short cuts were taken since.
