Pretty hefty “fines” levied. I wonder where the windfall profit will go and how those “fines” will be spent and by whom? Seems if the government agencies paid to DETECT AND PREVENT these kinds of disasters were doing their jobs, many of these situations could be avoided. In addition to making money off disasters, I doubt any regulatory/inspection agency employees lost their jobs over their failures to address these issues in a serious and responsible manner.
