Technology’s Disasters Fueled by Hubris, Ignoring Safety Warnings

    Did any one of these “experts” – using the term losely – think to ask the people who actually do the work how to make it safer?

    -The technology to clean up after an oil spill “is primitive,” Reilly said. “It’s wholly disproportionate to the tremendous technological advances that have allowed deepwater drilling to go forward. It just hasn’t kept pace.”-

    The Obooba Administration turned down help from 23 countries, and wouldn’t allow skimmers in other parts of the US to leave port to help in the Gulf.

    The problem wasn’t merely a failure of technology or the bubris of BP: it was an incompetent POTUS, who by federal law is directly responsible for managing eco-disasters of this type.
