“The jury awarded her compensatory damages of $2.7 million and punitive damages of $19.4 million against Wyeth, and $7.8 million against Upjohn.”
does this make any sense? how can there be punitive damages be this great? after, breast cancer can be treated. if the hormone therapy had a side effect of cancer, was this disclosed prior to taking the drug? the disparity between the drug companies don’t make sense either. retrial to go over the award money again, does not make any sense either. it was done once already. otherwise, it needs to be a do-over! dismiss the previous trial. lawyers will love it because it’s more money in their pockets…
Did she not read the pamphlet that is longer than your arm?! The risks are all in there; ultimately, she had the final decision to take them or not. I am on hormone therapy and know full well the side effects that can occur.
