with this bill, particularly with this line:
“Earlier this week, Leahy also introduced a bill to permit families of victims killed in offshore incidents to seek non-economic damages. The BP PLc disaster resulted in the deaths of 11 oil rig workers.”

you now want to backdate anything just because you feel it is right to do. this will not work because it’s after the fact. this should have been thought about before. it’s like stating, you had done these previous crimes and now since we have upgraded the sentencing on these crimes, your previous crimes will now be subject to upgraded sentence. these families will get money for their loss, but remember most families and laborers on these events know the risk. it’s like an event in the military that go to war! or a firefighter that goes to fight a fire and has to enter the building. or a police officer who engages into a shoot-out.

yes, we all agree it is a tragedy for even 1 life that was lost. but i think we need to focus not on BP but in the spill itself and get it under control and beach/gulf cleanup. it’s going to take us all under one roof to assist each other.

How about Barney Frank lying about Fannie and Freddie just weeks before they went into receivership? The pols better be careful, the American public is mad as hell, but it seems the anger is finally turning toward DC and state capitols where a good share off the blame should be placed. How about we get government to enforce the laws and regs already in place? Let he who is without sin….

And his butt buddies Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd who between the two of them were responsible for the devastating housing collapse ride off into the sunset free and clear. This absolutely makes me sick. These Washington politicians are the most reactive scum I have ever seen. God help this country.

How about the misuse of trillions in tax dollars, stolen from taxpayers? I think Leahy, Frank, Pelosi, Reid, and Dodd ought to receive stiff prison sentences for the financial crimes they have committed against this country. What about our Social Security money that has been stolen (oh yeah, it’s in a lockbox – ha-ha-ha), or the fact these lawyers are running Medicare into financial ruin?

Leahy ought to be wearing an orange jumpsuit.

I’m all for penalties and such with regards to environmental crimes, however, what I don’t get (using the BP debacle as an example) is how can they hand out jail terms to specific corporate officials on something that happened eons ago? Are cover-ups passed down from one official to another? You would think it would be pretty hard to prove..

We should outlaw both parties Republicans and Democrats and do away with paid politicians once and for all. We should only allow one term public servants who are arrested on site if the take any money for anything.

    We need Patriots not Politicians!

Obama names BP CEO Tony Hayward as Oil Csar. Although he has not spoken to him in 52 days, he has given him all authority over all our coastal waters and polution prevention. In an interview with the president, he stated that if he does not like what happens down there he has someone else to blame along with Bush and might even “kick someones A*s”. When presented with a mirror he state that he was creating an Oil polution committee of congressmen to figure out how to stop the oil leak. Bwaney Fwank has agreed to head up this committee, due to his expertise and work in the Banking area, when asked what he thinks a solution could be, he stated that he would use a very large condom.

Now that is leadership you can believe in! Hows that “HOPE AND CHANGE WORKING OUT FOR YOU!

“HOPE” FOR NOV 2010 AND “CHANGE” IN 2012!
