This is why I’ll never buy an American car. Two of Chrysler’s mainstays, the towne and country minivan and the JEEP are involved. The JEEP has been in production since the big war, the minivan since the 1980’s. How does a car manufacturer screw them up after all that time. You would think they’d know how to build them by now. And these aren’t sophisticated, extraordinary kinds of problems. But hey, those UAW jerks still make big money, almost 100% of their earnings in pensions, and lifetime health benefits. All this to produce a mediocre piece of crap.
Compare them to the “foreign engineered” cars that are also manufactured here in America that don’t have a fraction of the problems.
What’s with you twits? Until the big recall earlier this year, Toyota was kicking Detroits _ss consistently. The “big 3” on the other hand, have sucked since the 1970’s. Without the mustang and pick-up trucks they’d have nothing. I have an Accord and a Lexus. Both have in excess of 100,000 trouble free miles and still look and run like new vehicles. Until you’ve owned a few American pieces of crap you have no basis to comment.
1974 chevy vega, 1978 pontiac firebird, 1974 pontiac catalina, 1977 cadillac eldorado, 1974 ford ltd, 1988 chevy camaro, 1990 ford escort, 1994 ford escort, 2005 lincoln ls (saved my life), 1998 saturn sl. Just off the top of my head, with the possible exception of the Vega, loved every one of them..
I’ve driven Volkswagons, BMW’s, Hondas, Toyotas, hell even a Yugo. With the exception of the Honda, didn’t really mesh with any of them. Have to say I’m still a domestic man with the possible exception of a nice Porsche..
Hell, I’ve owned Buicks, Chevys, GMCs, Fords, Jeeps, Pontiacs, Caddys, Mercedes, Kia and even an International Scout. Have driven a whole lot more that that, too. Haven’t had enough problems with them that make me want to switch.
Jeez, I remember the IH Scout, learned to drive on one, I remember every time I took my foot off the clutch I had to move my leg to keep the pedal from breaking my shin on the way up.

Yeah you go on out there and buy that Camry….
So you’re a Toyota owner, huh? Those foreign auto makers sure know how to make them better!

TN……..your standards for vehicles must be pretty low. Drive a foreign engineered car and you’ll never go back.
