I specifically remember an article in the Wall Street Journal saying that Ivan proved the underwater piping and safety valve system worked. Pity; Reuters used to be a credible news organization.
Never let a good crisis go to waste. Sensationalize everything you can because you have to strike while the iron is hot! Interesting how the article mentions all the damage to the rigs and pipelines but makes no mention as to any oil spill resulting from the hurricane in 2004.
Was there any environmental damage as a result of all those rigs being damaged or set adrift or the pipelines being “disrupted”. Heck if my neighbors dog barks at night it “disrupts” my sleep but I don’t go around yelling about the vicious
Who cares; I’ll let my grandchildren figure all this out. We look back at my parents generation (World War II) as the greatest. I am sure my grandkids will look back on mine as F*%^ed Generation.
