You know, initially I planned to post a smart-a** comment in which I was going to claim that I was going to sue for something even more stupid than this…

…then I realized I’m not clever enough to come up with something more stupid than this.

Just proof that the greedy owners of Toyota have once again erred by shutting out the auto workers union. The cooperative forces of workers and management would have been able to work together in a union plant to solve this before it happened. Instead, you have underpaid, unmotivated workers who allow this to happen. Repressing the poor and disadvantaged got Toyota in this mess and they should pay in the short term. Mandating that these plants be unionized will solve the problem in the long term.

who’s watching the till. A dime to a donut when all is said and done the lawyers will get most of the money and the car owners will get a coupon/discount on their next Toyota. Those attorneys are such hard negotiators you know.
Now I know why they call them sharks.

The non-union employees should also class action sue for the shortfall in wages they received.

One or two better. If the owner’s of the Toyota’s get a $500 off coupon for their next car, then I think the Lawyers should get a free toyota car coupon of their choice. That’s only fair. Or in my opinion, the judge should let this go on for six months, then the jury should say, sorry no payout. Not only do the Plantiff class action lawyers get zero after spending hundreds of thousand making up this case, but now their reputation is in the toilet. Who would want to hire a law firm that can’t even collect from a billion dollar company like Toyota? I wouldn’t.

the relationship toyota has with its employees is world renowned. that is why they have such an amazing car making reputation. a union would only ruin toyota, like it is in the process of doing to us car makers. you are sadly mistaken and misguided.

Toyota thought they were safe or immune from the wining, selfish, demanding American Citizens. Ha ha on them. Now they know why the United States is slowly falling apart. From the top CEO’s who think they are priceless to the lowest level person who thinks they deserve to be millionaires and never have to work again (even though they aren’t working now, unless you call picking up your welfare check work). Good for Toyota. I hope they learn a valuable lesson from all this! I think they will. Just watch the cost of a Toyota in a few years. Their price will go up 10% if not 20% to make up for these claims. Or better yet, shut down the American plants and still sell their cars here, but be more like China and say screw you!!! Oh wait, they can’t, we provide their military. Suckers!!!!

    Rosie,
I found your comment interesting, but I was wondering what criteria you were using to come to that conclusion about Toyota recalls being the cause of not having a union shop.
Is there a true correlation between the recalls that are with union shops compared to those that are not? If what you are saying is a true statement, and if you would happen to know what are the statistics of recalls compared with not union shops versus union shops? How many times have the whistle blowers been unions that have been the cause of recalls on vehicles? Following your logic the recalls from union shops such as GM should be blamed on the United Auto Workers unless it was the union’s whistle blowing that caused the recall. Is this a fair statement?

I love it when people take Rosie’s posts seriously. I often wonder what idiotic comment she can come up with next to get the IJ readers riled up. The post would’ve been better had she said something like:

This toyota recall is happening b/c God hates George Bush…..and Prius drivers. (the prius drivers part is true)

Rosie….you’re slacking in that you neglected to somehow blame Bush for this. :-)
