The article stated: “…Massey Energy Co.’s Tiller No. 1 underground mine in Virginia received citations for serious violations at 222 percent of the national average, according to MSHA. ” and then Massey says in a corporate press release (I assume)….”Massey’s safety record is consistently better than the industry average,” How can that be? Didn’t this mouthpiece even check what MSHA said? And by the way, Massey is the leader in shearing off mountain tops and dumping the rock waste into the adjacent valleys, which affects the water quality ( I won’t say pollute), and all the while telling the media how environmentally responsible they are, and how clean coal is (the technology is a myth) when in fact, they are just bottom line driven, like the banking industry….where will this all lead? Holy solar system, Robin, the future Earth will be just like Venus!
