I want to know who would have access to the database? Would insurance companies be able to access it? I would hope if it was a public record, they would block out their social security number so any John Doe wouldn’t be able to steal their idenity for finacial reasons. (Yes, I know its weird for someone to care about a prisoner’s welfare, but what if they are wrongly convicted and years later the court finds out they judged wrongly. It would take all that much longer for that person to repair all the damage that has been done.)

‘fired up’ so to speak over arsonists, but we can’t get states to talk to each other when it comes to pedophiles?????

I’d be all for national databases for all convicted felons. Killers, rapists, arsonists, pedophiles, etc. I’d also be all for a means for each state to quickly and effectively search to see anyone they have arrested has an outstanding warrant in other states.

Somewhere along the road the rights of victims have to outweigh the rights of someone who has CHOSEN to violate another’s rights.
