When are these fools going to accept the fact that homes shouldn’t be built in certain areas, and those who ignore this basic fact deserve no sympathy or financial aid to repair the results of their poor judgment? Think of the billions of dollars wasted on re-building areas that shouldn’t have been developed in the first place.

People who live on the coast, especially the Gulf Coast, should smarten up. Surely the Federal Government will take care of them again, agan, and again. It is the NFIP that should smarten up and stop writing these disasters again, again, and again.

You mean a frame building on sticks on the beach of Galveston Island cannot adequately survive hurricane force winds and storm surge? Who’da thunkit?!?
