Our country should never forget this event and how we felt that day.

We held a ceremony at our office today to remember the victims of this tragic day. May their deaths not be in vain.

I share the sympathy and compassion for those who lost their lives and their surviving families and agree we should/will never forget what happended that day. Some additional thoughts eight years later:

I’m agry that our own government “may” have been able to prevent this if it weren’t for internal bickering and refusal to share information among “intelligence agencies”. (oxymoron?)

I’m angry that in spite our relationships with other countries, our technologies, and our military, we cannot locate Bin Laden.

I’m angry that after the worst terrorist attack on American soil we’ve made minimal progress hunting down and eliminating (killing)the leaders of the Taliban or Al Qaeda.

I’m angry that because of one idiot who tried to put some explosives in his shoe, that the whole world has to remove their shoes at the airport. Where’s the technology to step on a device and be cleared?

America needs to remember 9/11, but show some assertiveness to stop playing defense against the human garbage of the world.

There, I feel much better now.

God bless those who perished and their families. Terrence Farrell, the pride of Dix Hills, NY, continues to be missed.

We put dad in a nursing home 1 year ago due to dimentia. He forgot about 911 already, so I smacked him for disrespecting his country!

What I mean is what about our soldiers that get killed everyday for our country…why not hold a memorial every day for them? What about the children that get taken, raped and murdered every day…why not hold a memorial everyday for them? What about people killed by drunk drivers everyday…why not hold a memorial everyday for them? I think you get my point. Do I feel bad that these people died and how they died? Yes, but I also feel for the innocent children in the world too that had no choice of how they die…I could go on and on.

You obviously don’t have a clue. This “one event” was an act of war on our soil. I think most of us care about the children that are abused, and we also are thankful for our troops. My son was 16 years old when 9/11 happened and would have joined the service then if he could. He did join at 19 years of age and is currently serving in the Air Force defending our country. That is why he is there. THEY WILL NEVER FORGET!
