Now, what sounds better? Gee, officer, I spilled my beer when I hit a pot hole….or….Gee, officer, I spilled my beer when my Viagra kicked in on my way home from bingo? You decide.

Older people are KEENLY aware of their meds including interactions and side effects. It’s time we stop giving this age group a free pass on not knowing what impairs them aside from slower reaction times, poor hearing and vision, and belligerance. Having said that, old people get vicious and defensive anytime their ability to drive is questioned. They WANT their independence at all costs. Since they’ve enjoyed the best years and are now in the “twilight”, they need to respect the lives of younger people who shouldn’t be subjected to their compromised driving habits/abilities.
