Public Adjusters are not “working against insurance companies”, but rather help insurance companies to make fair decisions by properly assessing damage and applying policy provisions. If that would be “working against insurance companies”, I rest my case!
Why would any public adjuster commit fraud and risk his/her license? Insurance companies do not pay for damages that are not there Shield, they underpay their polycyholders until a PA or a lawyer is involved.
Been doing this for 10 years now. Have NEVER knowingly underpayed any claim. Its not my money, I don’t care how much money I pay on a claim to an insured. My supervisors always say, we don’t pay a penny more than we owe and we don’t pay a penny less than we owe.
Our company never builds in any “fluff” into our estimates in order to collect any fee. Obviously you are not familiar with public adjusting services.
We work on contingency based on amount recovered, same as attorneys, but for a smaller amount.
For example; I just had a claim with Allstate, policyholder had a 12,000.00 check, after retaining our firm we collected an additional 80,000 for a total of $92,000.00 our fee was based on 10% on $80,000 = $8,000.00
So for the record, I did not forget anything in my previous post :)
You are correct there are greedy and unproffecional adjusters out there, both IA’s & PA’s not to mention how insurance companies screw their clients.
Policyholders need to have an option to hire someone who can help them in assesing damages and reading the policy. What’s wrong with that? I for example use a CPA when do my taxes. I also go to the taylor when I need to shorten my pants allthough I can just cut them with cissors.

Dear Dimitry,
I suppose much like the plaintiff bar keeps people working by suing everything in sight, and helps people realize how injured they might be.
Where would that reputation come from?
Dimitry,
You forgot the part about making sure you build in at least a 10% overage into the claim so that you are able to collect your fee.

Dear Steve,
GREED and Lapsed ethics!
Why don’t some states even allow Public adjusters?
Richard,

Dear Dimitry,
Would your CPA or your tailor put a lien on your tax return or your pants?
No, but if I dont pay I am sure there would be a problem. As per my attorney, Public Adjusters can not place a lien on the property for none payment.
Hope that helps
